Meet the Youth Ministries Department
 Monte TorkelsenDirector Monte is an Oregon native, having spent much of his elementary and high school years in the Portland area. After receiving his education at WWC and Andrews University, ministry opportunities took him to Milton-Freewater, Oregon and then Perth, Australia, where he served as Youth Director. Since 1993, his family has enjoyed living back in Oregon. His wife, Darla, is a speech therapist. They enjoy spending time with their three sons, Brandon, Chad and Trenton.

Tracy Wood
Tracy was born and raised in the Oregon Conference. He is a graduate of Meadow Glade Elementary School and Columbia Adventist Academy. After receiving his Bachelors Degree from Union College Tracy pastored for six years here in Oregon and then completed his Master's of Divinity at the Adventist Theological Seminary. His wife Angelina is the Associate Children's Ministries Director for the Oregon Conference. They enjoy experiencing ministry together, doing outdoor activities, and spending time with their boys, Shelby and Kolby. |

 Connie AmesPathfinder Administrative Assistant Everyone knows that Connie Ames is the "Pathfinder" lady! She probably knows more about Pathfiders than anyone else in the conference. Connie attended Milo Academy, and received a 2-year degree in Office Administration from Walla Walla College. She has lived in Portland for years and enjoys baking, reading, and hiking. |

 Karen WesslenBig Lake Administrative Assistant Working in an office is familiar territory for Karen. Most of her working career has been in office administration. She came to work for Big Lake Youth Camp from the North Pacific Union Conference in March of 2004. Camp is familiar to Karen. Both of her sons worked at Big Lake, she helped for sunday registration in Portland for several years, and, while in college, she and her husband John (pastor for Oregon Conference) both worked at Sunset Lake camp in Washington Conference! Hurray for summer camps! |
